We are incredibly grateful for your continued dedication to our community and are excited to invite you to participate in the upcoming Solid Series Summer Open BJJ tournament. This event is a special opportunity for both kids and adults to experience competition in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

Your commitment to growth — both on and off the mats — is truly inspiring, and we sincerely thank you for being part of this journey with us. Whether it’s your first time competing or you’re already familiar with tournaments, our goal is to ensure that everyone walks away from this event with great memories and a sense of accomplishment, no matter the outcome.

Athletes
Red wristband at weigh-in
Athletes receive one red wristband at their weigh-in location on Friday. If your location does not issue wristbands, pick yours up at the Check-In Table on event day.
Minors (Under 18)
Red + 2 green wristbands
Minor athletes also receive two green spectator wristbands for parents or guardians at weigh-in.
Coaches
Check in by academy
Each academy receives 10 coach wristbands. Coaches sign in under their academy name at the Check-In desk. Once 10 spots are filled, remaining coaches will need to purchase a spectator wristband.
Spectators
  • Extra spectator wristbands: $15 online · $20 at door
  • Kids 10 & under: wristband required but free
  • Volunteers, Sponsors & Staff: pick up a blue wristband at the volunteer table
Weigh-Ins
Friday Night.

Weigh-ins take place the evening before the tournament. All athletes must complete weigh-in to receive their wristband.

Can’t Make It Friday?

If you cannot make it to a Friday weigh-in, email us at info@solidseriesevents.com. Anyone who does not receive their wristband on Friday must pick it up at the Check-In Table on event day.

Kids Warm-Up
All ages welcome on warm-up mats.
8:30 – 9:00 AM
Kids & Teens Matches Begin
First youth matches start. Athletes should be warmed up and near their staging area.
~1:00 – 2:00 PM
Adult Matches Begin
Exact times posted on Smoothcomp. Times are estimates — refresh the app regularly for live updates.

All athletes should arrive at least 1 hour before their first scheduled match.

Event Day
When You Arrive.
No additional check-in required on Saturday.

All competitors completed check-in and weigh-ins on Friday. When you arrive:

  • Show your wristband at the entrance
  • Head to warm-up mats or spectator seating
  • Need additional spectator passes? Visit the Tournament Check-In Table
Match Time Flexibility
Times Can Shift.

Matches may run earlier or later than posted. If you miss your match, we’ll do our best to fit you in. If no match is possible, you’ll receive a future event credit or full refund.

Mat-Side Seating
One Chair Per Side.

Each mat has one chair per side for the coach or parent of the active competitor. No other individuals are allowed inside the mat area during matches.

  • Rash guard and shorts (for No-Gi divisions)

Medals
1st · 2nd · 3rd.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers receive custom Solid Open medals. Medals must be picked up at the event — no mail-outs or holds.

Brackets
Smoothcomp.

After weigh-ins on Friday night, our team finalizes all brackets. This process takes several hours — check Smoothcomp early Saturday morning for your finalized division and match times.

Each division registration guarantees two matches minimum.

Solo Bracket
Nobody Left Alone.

If an athlete ends up in a bracket alone, our team will reach out the week of the tournament to discuss moving up by age (for kids), weight, or rank. We’ll do our best to ensure everyone gets meaningful matches.
