Policy.

The short version

We collect the information we need to run tournaments and to tell you when the next one is. We do not sell your information. Email and text updates are opt-in, they are separate from each other, and you can leave either one at any time.

Who we are

Solid Series is a Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai tournament series based in Denver, Colorado. This policy covers solidseriesevents.com and the events we run. Questions about anything on this page go to info@solidseriesevents.com.

What we collect

When you sign up for updates. Your email address. If you also opt in to text messages, your mobile number. Nothing else is required.

When you buy something. Spectator tickets and professional match footage are sold through this site. We collect your name, email address, billing details, and phone number, plus the order itself. Card payments are handled by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card number.

When you order match footage. The competitor’s name, the delivery email, and the ring and bout number, so we can find the right match.

When you receive a ticket. Each ticket carries a unique code and QR image. When it is scanned at the door we record that it was checked in, and when.

When you take the referee certification exam. Your name, email address, and phone number, your answers, and your score.

When you register to compete. Registration and waivers are handled on Smoothcomp, not here. What you enter there is governed by Smoothcomp’s own privacy policy. We receive the competitor lists and bracket data we need to run the event.

When you visit the site. Standard web-server logs, and cookies used to keep your shopping cart working. We may use ordinary traffic analytics to see which pages are used. None of this identifies you by name.

How we use it

• To run events: brackets, tickets, door check-in, footage delivery, referee certification.
• To answer you when you contact us.
• To send event updates — schedules, brackets, registration windows — by email if you opted in to email, and by text if you separately opted in to text.
• To process payments and keep records of sales.
• To keep the site working and secure.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Email updates

Our email list runs on Mailchimp. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email us and we will remove you.

Text message updates

Text updates are a separate opt-in. Ticking the email box does not sign you up for texts, and signing up for texts does not sign you up for email.

If you opt in, you are consenting to receive event-update text messages from Solid Series at the number you gave us. Message frequency varies — expect roughly four messages a month, more in the week of an event. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of buying anything from us. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share information with

Only the services we need to operate:

• Mailchimp — email and text delivery.
• Our payment provider — card processing.
• Our website host — running the site.
• Smoothcomp — competitor registration, waivers, and brackets.

We also share information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

Order and ticket records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and dispute resolution. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Referee exam records are kept for as long as the certification is current. Anything else is kept only as long as it is useful for running events.

Minors

Many of our competitors are children. When a minor competes, a parent or guardian provides and consents to the information involved. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 for marketing purposes, and we do not knowingly send marketing email or text messages to them. If you believe we have information about a child that should not be here, email us and we will remove it.

Photography and video at events

Solid Series events are photographed and filmed. Images and footage may appear on this site, on our social channels, and in event recaps. If you would rather not appear, tell an event official or email us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from email — the link at the bottom of any email.
• Stop text messages — reply STOP to any message.
• See, correct, or delete what we hold — email info@solidseriesevents.com and tell us what you want. We will act on it within a reasonable time.

Changes

We will update this page when what we do changes, and the effective date at the top will move.
