Bracket, Match Formatting, the Smoothcomp App
- After weigh-ins on Friday night, our team works diligently to finalize everyone’s brackets.
- This process can take several hours, so please plan on checking Smoothcomp early Saturday morning for your finalized divisions and match times.
- Download the Smoothcomp App
- All brackets, schedules, and live updates will be managed through smoothcomp. To follow your division in real time, download the official app from your devices app store before the event day.
- Log in using your smoothcomp account, search for "Solid Series Fall Open"
- Pro tip: Enable notifications in the app so you'll get real-time updates when it's your turn to compete!

Check-In & Wristbands
- Red wristband: Athletes (provided at weigh-ins or check-in desk)
- Green wristbands: Two per youth athlete for parents/guardians
- Yellow wristbands: Coaches (check in under academy name)
- Blue wristbands: Volunteers, sponsors, and staff
- Extra spectator wristbands: $10 each (kids 10 & under free, wristband required)
What to Bring
- Clean, properly fitted gi
- Rash guard and shorts (for No-Gi)
- Mouthpiece (recommended)
- Positive attitude & team spirit
Rules & Format
- Each division guarantees two matches minimum.
- Matches decided by points or submission only (no advantages).
- Modified IBJJF rules for safety and fairness.
- Kids (Ages 4–12): Omoplata, Ezekiel, and Head & Arm chokes allowed.
- Adults (Brown/Black No-Gi): Reaps, heel hooks, and advanced leg entanglements allowed.
Medals & Trophies
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners receive custom Solid Open medals.
